Every summer, the Washington Lions FC proudly represents the Seattle area at the National Veterans Tournament (NVT) — a vibrant celebration of soccer, culture, and community that brings together Cameroonian teams from across North America. This year’s tournament, hosted by the National Veterans Tournament USA Football Association (NVT-USA FA), will once again unite thousands of players and fans for a weekend of competition, friendship, and solidarity.
Founded in 2015, the NVT has grown into one of the largest gatherings of the African diaspora in North America, featuring over 40 clubs and 4,000 members from the United States and Canada. Beyond soccer, the tournament promotes healthy living, cultural exchange, and philanthropy through community programs and outreach initiatives that extend far beyond the field.
For WA Lions FC, the NVT is more than just a competition — it’s a tradition of pride, teamwork, and service. Each year, our players train and fundraise to represent Washington with honor while connecting with fellow veterans and community leaders.
