WA Lions FC Hosts Youth Soccer Camp and Community Match

On July 12th, 2025, the Washington Lions Veterans FC brought together families, friends, and soccer enthusiasts for a fun-filled day of sports and community at 1401 S Dash Point Rd in Federal Way, WA. The event featured a free youth soccer camp for kids ages 4–15, followed by a spirited friendly match between WA Lions FC and the Gambian community team.

The soccer camp gave young players the chance to learn new skills, build confidence, and experience the joy of teamwork under the guidance of experienced players and coaches. Parents and supporters filled the sidelines with energy and encouragement, creating a festive atmosphere of unity and pride.

In addition to promoting youth development, the event served as a fundraiser to help WA Lions FC prepare for the National Veterans Tournament (NVT) — an annual gathering of over 40 Cameroonian teams from across North America. Proceeds from the day will support the team’s travel, equipment, and registration costs as they represent Washington at the national level later this summer.

WA Lions FC extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended, volunteered, or donated. Your support keeps our mission alive — using soccer to bring people together, strengthen community ties, and inspire the next generation.
